Our new 142 service, commencing on 15th May 2017, means that buses once again pass the entrance to the Park. Three services in each direction during opening hours run on Mondays to Saturdays. So you can easily have a morning, afternoon or full day out - or combine it with a visit to nearby Basildon Park, also served by the 142 service. From Sunday 30th July there are also four journeys on Sundays along new route 144 which provide a direct service Goring-Pangbourne-Purley-Reading passing the park entrance.
Coming from Reading?
There are direct buses from Blagrave Street stops EO/EP (close to the station and the Town Hall) at 11.20, 13.50 Mondays to Saturdays or at 11.05, 12.55 and 15.10 on Sundays. The return fare is £5 adult, £2.50 children (5-15).
If those times are not convenient, why not get the train to Goring where there are connecting buses to the Park, leaving Goring station at 09.50, 12.15 and 15.10 Mondays to Saturdays or at 10.05, 12.05 and 14.10 on Sundays. It's just a ten minute journey on the bus from Goring. You can either buy a return from Goring to the Park (adult £4.50, children 5-15 £2.25) or if you buy a single to Reading (adult £5, children 5-15 £2.50) you can come back to Reading on the bus using the same ticket. Just tell the driver that you want to break your journey at the Park so that you don't get charged twice!
You can also do the same in reverse - buses leave the Park at 11.53, 14.23 and 16.53 to Goring station on Mondays to Saturdays, or at 11.32, 13.22, 15.37 and 17.37 on Sundays.
