The Parks Route (145-148)

Streatley High Street closure:  Monday 23rd to Friday 27th October 2023

Monday 23rd to Friday 27th October 2023: due to the closure of Streatley High Street, services on route 133 via Moulsford will be severely disrupted. Buses will either be diverted via an alternative route between Goring and Moulsford (and will run earlier) or will run only between Moulsford and Wallingford with some services running later than usual. Our Tuesday 145/6 from Goring to Reading will be similarly disrupted between Goring and Whitchurch with buses diverted via an alternative route. Stops between Goring and Pangbourne will not be served and the morning journey to Reading will start from Whitchurch Greyhound. Times will not be changed. For further information please call us on 07484 605888. We apologise for the inconvenience caused.

Our revised Autumn 2023 service on this route started on Tuesday 5th September 2023.  There are minor timing changes to all services which we hope will improve punctuality.  Our new morning service from Goring to Reading via Basildon and Beale Wildlife Parks allows visits from Reading if you travel on the 09.34 from Blagrave Street and stay on the bus at Goring Station.  Please see the new timetable below.

Unfortunately due to health issues, the person who usually changes the timetables at the bus stops is unable to do it this time. We are very sorry about this, and will try to get them changed as soon as we can. If anyone would like to help by changing them at their local stops, please do let us know - and thank you to those who have already volunteered!

Special Note:  It has come to our attention that if you do an internet search for the 142, you may be directed to an old (2013) Thames Travel timetable.  Unfortunately Thames Travel tell us they are not able to remove it - apparently it will be there for eternity!  Please ignore it, the correct timetable for that route can be found on the Oxford Bus Company website.  Sorry for any confusion but the worldwideweb is outside of our control (or anyone elses according to Thames Travel!!)

What's the route in Caversham Heights?

The 146 follows the yellow highlighted route from Caversham Library northwards... you can board or alight at any bus stop but please do give a clear hand signal to the driver if you wish to board, and let them know in good time if you want to get off.  AND it's only £2 adult single for any journey between Shepherd's Lane (the Oxfordshire boundary) and Blagrave Street/Tesco King's Meadow no matter how long or short!

Printed copies of the new timetables (as above) are now available - currently on the buses, and also at Goring Library, the Community Centre, and Goring Railway Station (while stocks last!).

We are sorry to advise that Reading Borough Council has withdrawn funding for Reading Buses' service 28 so this service was discontinued on July 28th 2018.

The free bus that operated to and from Tesco on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays ceased operating from March 19th 2019.  The only buses serving the site now are Going Forward Buses on Tuesdays.
